Tom Ford Private Blend

Private Blend is the laboratory wing of Tom Ford's fragrance empire, launched in 2007 so the designer could commission scents too strange, too dark or too costly for a department-store counter. The collection introduced a generation of Western wearers to oud, dense floral leathers and tobacco absolutes, all dressed in the same austere brown-glass apothecary flacon. Oud Wood and Tobacco Vanille, both from the founding line-up, remain its twin pillars: one murmured, one velvet-loud.
