Tobacco Vanille, composed by Olivier Gillotin for the original 2007 Private Blend line, remains the reference point for the entire tobacco-vanilla genre. The tobacco here is whole leaf — sweet, spiced, slightly damp, as if a humidor had been opened in a warm room — folded into a vanilla thickened with cacao and tonka. Dried fig and a dark-fruit accord keep the sweetness vinous rather than sugary, and the whole settles into hours of slow, enveloping warmth.
